A company like DFS must be able to withstand adversity and face up to new situations as they develop. This applies to the organisation itself as well as to its staff. Operational staff in particular must have the ability to react flexibly to stressful situations and adapt. For air traffic controllers, this might be an unexpected traffic situation, for example.
The goal of safety management at DFS is therefore to fortify the individual resilience of operational staff as well as the organisational resilience of the whole DFS. We use various tools for this purpose, such as training courses and briefings. We also engage in active monitoring and carry out regular surveys to help us assess the level of safety and identify possible areas for action.
