Calibration flights around Frankfurt Airport

In the period from 12 to 15 October 2023, extensive calibration flights will be carried out around Frankfurt Airport. A calibration aircraft specially equipped for this purpose will fly a series of flight procedures.

On these days, the calibrations will begin at 23:00 hrs and last until approximately 03:00 hrs on the following day. Further calibration flights for all runways will take place from 20 to 22 October 2023, except for runway northwest.

Should there be any delays due to technical reasons or the weather, the calibration flights will have to be continued in an alternative period.

The calibration aircraft being used is a turboprop Beechcraft Super King Air 350. Overflights of built-up areas will be avoided as far as possible and to the extent the specified flight profiles permit. The calibration is to test the safe operation of the approach and departure routes.
